CALL TO ACTION!

February 3rd, 2013

Insomniac's Headliners are the best, most creative fans in the world. We love each one of you, and we are grateful every time you choose to participate in our events. At Insomniac, we aim to create inspiring environments where you don't need drugs to have a wonderful, spiritual experience.  Behind the scenes' we work long hours with the brightest security, health and safety experts in the business to create safe environments for you.

Even with all of our precautions, every single person who comes to our events is responsible for their choices. We ask each of you to do your part with safe, responsible behavior, and by obeying all of our event policies and the law - that is why we search everyone entering our events, maintain a strict 18 and over requirement, prohibit drugs and have extensive security staffing. Sadly, it appears that today's front page story in the Los Angeles Times ignored all of these facts and more in their story about us.

As part of their mission to twist facts to suit their sensational story, the LA Times treated the opinions of a few people as gospel, turned everyone who enjoys electronic music events into villains, and ignored anyone that did not agree with their biased opinion. Rather than addressing the real issue, rampant drug use in the United States, Rong-Gong "Ron" Lin II and his team preferred to attack our company, our events, our music and Pasquale instead of doing any credible research on health and safety issues facing large music festivals across the world.

Ecstasy is a global problem. Silence is not the solution, nor is singling out a genre of music and its fans. We encourage you all to engage in this discussion and help us keep our events going strong.

We ask that all of you, our invaluable Headliners, voice your perspective to these reporters, email them at: ron.lin@latimes.com; paul.pringle@latimes.com; andrew.blankstein@latimes.com.

You can also reach them via Twitter at @PringleLATimes, @anblanx, and @ronlin.

As always, for all of you who support our events and inspire us with your creativity and positivity, thanks for standing by us.

Nocturnal Discovery Project In Retrospect

October 16th, 2012

Through our Discovery Project competitions, Insomniac aims to give a voice to undiscovered talent and to open the door for those striving for greater exposure. We also hope to demonstrate that the most memorable experiences are often those that aren't planned. If you walked into the Upside Down Room on Friday or the Wide Awake Art Car stage on Saturday and found a world of incredible new music from DJs you'd never heard of, then we've done something right.

The winning DJs and producers have spoken to us about what it is like to play at such a spectacular, world-renowned festival. "I've been to Insomniac's events before," said Clinton VanSciver, "but to be there as an artist for my first festival appearance was surreal." Mr. Brooks declared, "it was the most awesome experience I ever had in my life. The energy and vibe was just amazing." Despite the pressure of performing, many of the Discovery DJs felt surprisingly comfortable. "I could not sleep the night before!" explained DJ Tory Tee. "It felt like a dream come true, like I was a part of the Insomniac family. Like I was at home." MSTREX also claimed that performing at Nocturnal Wonderland "felt like home."

The Discovery DJs have seen a great deal of new support since playing at Nocturnal Wonderland. "Over that weekend we gained 1000 new fans on Facebook and over 200 new followers on Instagram," said the Beat Kidz, whose DJ-plus-live-drummer format brought them a wealth of intrigue from attendees. "I actually got booked for Frenzy After Hours at Avalon in Hollywood," reported Charlie of Monstergetdown. "I also have gotten many more listeners and supporters." Meanwhile, DJ Tory Tee has seen "a whole new level respect open up" for him since his Nocturnal Wonderland gig, and RYKR noticed that his "fan base has swelled quite a bit." MSTREX watched "the whole Northern California EDM scene" turn their attention towards him since winning the competition and now has four tracks in rotation on CBS's Movin' 99.7 HouseNation, the "#1 EDM radio show in Northern California."

A strong and supportive bond has been forged between Insomniac and the Discovery Project winners. We expect many opportunities to arise out of these new found relationships, from gigs and bookings to recordings and signings. Today we're proud to announce that Monstergetdown, whose bouncy tech house style brought loungers to their feet and our entire camera crew to the stage, will be opening the Mad Hatters Hospital at Escape from Wonderland on October 27th!

Stay updated with the Discovery Project at www.discoveryproject.com. We're now accepting submissions for the Discovery Project: EDC Orlando.
